#FangirlGigs: Seo In Guk wows the crowd with his performance of ‘Ikaw’ in his Manila fan meet
Firsts, as most would say, are always unforgettable. That rings true for fans of Seo In Guk who were present to witness his immense talent during his "First Asia Fan Meeting Tour" at the New Frontier Theater last August 12. Filo Heartriders, as his fans are called, felt even more special since Manila was In Guk’s first stop on his Asian tour.
The South Korean singer-actor has been in the business for 14 years, debuting as a singer before headlining popular K-dramas such as Reply 1997, Doom at Your Service, and Cafe Minamdang.
His international stardom is reflected in the number of fans who flew to Manila to see him. Heartriders from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Australia were there to see their idol, who in turn made sure that his fans’ trip was worth it.
Seo In Guk sings Ikaw by Yeng Constantino
A total performer, In Guk commanded the stage as he performed some of his hit songs, including My Love and the all-time favorite All For You from the Reply 1997 OST. But it was In Guk’s rendition of Yeng Constantino’s Ikaw that garnered major cheers from the crowd. Despite having difficulty with the lyrics, he was able to effectively convey the message of the song with his impassioned performance.

The Korean actor also made sure to learn some Filipino phrases, tickling his fans with “Kumusta kayo, mga bebe ko? Na-miss n’yo ba ako?” We’re happy to witness that the Korean star is as funny and charming in person as in his K-drama roles.
Aside from his powerful performances, In Guk also interacted with some lucky fans, gave advice, and played some 90s games. He even created his own halo-halo dessert, which he dubbed as "Halo-Halo from Hell," but enjoyed eating nonetheless.
Fallen for Seo In Guk
While some celebrities today could be self-conscious, In Guk’s charm lies in his chill, friendly vibe. He isn’t the type to try hard to impress people as evident in his answers to typical questions during fan meetings.
He talked about his upcoming projects, which include the fantasy drama Death's Game slated to come out by the end of the year, and shared what he looks forward to in the future.
“As I continue my career, I just want to be a singer and actor for a long run and to be loved for a long duration of time,” he said.
With his talent and sincerity, In Guk, without a doubt, will be loved by his legion of fans for a very long time.
