Here's what you need to know about the icons attending Asia Artist Awards 2023

Hallyu fans will only wait a little more until they get to see their favorite idols and icons at the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) 2023!

Established in 2016, AAA honors the outstanding achievements and international contributions of South Korean artists in Asian television, film, and music. For the first time ever, this year’s awards ceremony will be hosted by the Philippines.

The eighth edition of the prestigious event will take place at the Philippine Arena on Dec. 14. Organized by Pulp Live World, AAA will reportedly be hosted by IVE's Jang Won-young, soloist Kang Daniel, and ZEROBASEONE's Sung Han-Bin.

As the awards show draws near, artists included in its star-studded lineup are slowly being revealed. Here's a list of the famous faces set to attend this year's AAA so far.

Korean actors and actresses

Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Sejeong, Kim Seonho and Moon Gayoung

Fans of the romantic comedy series Business Proposal are about to have all the feels as its lead stars Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Sejeong will also grace AAA 2023.

Welcome to Waikiki 2 stars Kim Seonho and Moon Gayoung were also revealed to be flying to the Philippines for the event.

Lee Jun Ho, Jung Sung Il, Kim Young Dae, and Lee Jun Young

King the Land star Lee Jun Ho, The Glory actor Jung Sung Il, Shooting Stars actor Kim Young Dae, and Lee Jun Young who was also a part of Netflix thriller series Mask Girl will also be joining the 2023 AAA.

Other Korean stars who confirmed their attendance are Moon Sang Min and Yoo Seon Ho from the series Under the Queen's Umbrella, Ahn Dong Goo from the series Our Beloved Summer, and K-pop star and actor Park Jae Chan from the drama series Semantic Error.

K-pop acts

NewJeans, Le Sserafim, NMIXX, BOYNEXTDOOR, and Zerobaseone

One of the first set of artists that were confirmed to attend are Korean girl groups NewJeans, Le Sserafim, and NMIXX and boy bands BOYNEXTDOOR and Zerobaseone.

NewJeans and Le Sserafim made waves at last year's AAA after they received the distinction of winning Performance of the Year and Best Musician respectively. Both of them were also given the Rookie of the Year award in the music category.

Stray Kids, THE BOYZ, ITZY, Eunbi Kwon, and &TEAM

K-pop acts Stray Kids, THE BOYZ, ITZY, Eunbi Kwon, and &TEAM will also be making their Filipino fans swoon as they're revealed to be a part of AAA 2023's lineup of artists.

THE BOYZ—composed of Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Ju Haknyeon, Sunwoo and Eric—previously won the Best Artist Award in the 2022 edition of the awards ceremony. ITZY—which consists of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna—was also awarded Best Artist in AAA 2022 as well as the Asian Celebrity Award.

Also in the mix are Kim Jae Joong, Dindin, Lee Youngil, Dreamcatcher, KARD, Ash Island, YAOCHEN, STAYC, Kep1er, TEMPEST, and Lapillus.

SB19, SEVENTEEN's BSS, and HORI7ON

If you think that SB19 and HORI7ON will be missing the party, then good news as the two Pinoy acts are expected to attend the hotly anticipated event. 

SB19, comprising Pablo, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Josh, debuted in 2018 and has since went on to become one of the leading P-Pop acts. HORI7ON meanwhile debuted via the Korean-Philippine audition show Dream Maker in 2023 and gained recognition for songs like SIX7EEN and DASH.

Also in attendance are emerging K-pop groups like SEVENTEEN's Boo Seok-soon, ONEUS or One Earth, Kingdom, ATBO, and LUN8.
