Kang Tae-oh set to make TV comeback after military discharge

The Korean actor is “positively considering” playing the lead role in the upcoming drama, Potato Research Institute, as reported by Korean media Soompi, citing his agency Man of Creation.
Tae-oh will play the role of a man “blessed with perfect looks but is an outsider who also possesses unexpected charm.”
Kim Ho Soo will write the upcoming series and Kang Il Soo will be directing, with its premiere date set for late 2024 or 2025. The two previously worked together in the 2019 series Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung.
Once everything is set in stone, Potato Research Institute will be the actor’s TV comeback following his military discharge on Tuesday, March 19.
"I enlisted after receiving great love from everyone after wrapping up Extraordinary Attorney Woo. I faced the end of my 20s and start of my 30s in the military, and it was a meaningful time during which I fixed my bad habits and earned only good things," he said as per Soompi.
"I will work to impress with great projects going forward, so please show lots of anticipation and love."
The Korean actor was best known for his role as Lee Joon-ho in the award-winning series, Extraordinary Attorney Woo which starred Park Eun-bin. A month after airing its last episode, he enlisted in the military in September 2022.
His other series include The Tale of Nokdu, Doom at Your Service, and Run On. He was also a member of K-pop group 5urprise with fellow actors Seo Kang-joon, Gong Myung, Lee Tae-hwan, and Yoo Il.
