Kim Chiu admits heart is 'a little empty' after breakup with Xian Lim

Despite feeling disheartened about breaking things off with Xian, Kim said, "It's part of life and part of growing up."

She opted not to go into detail about the reason for their separation but explained that it was a mutual decision on their part.

"It’s a common understanding naman namin. [It's a] mutual decision to end things and to move on with our lives," she said.

"Medyo mahirap siya and you just have to accept siguro ‘yung mga bagay na wala ka nang control. You cannot push yourself sa isang bagay na not in the same wavelength," she added.

Vicki then pointed out Kim and Xian's long relationship and asked if the actress ever opened the topic of their future with her ex-lover.

"Did you ever ask him, 'What's going to happen to us now?'" Vicki asked.

"Hindi talaga. Hindi ako nagtatanong. [Pero] iniisip ko. It’s also of the reasons. Hindi naman siya big factor pero syempre as we grow old, syempre iisipin mo na rin ‘yun," Kim answered.

After their breakup, Xian began to be romantically linked with film producer Iris Lee after being spotted going to a motorcycle riding school together with their friends.

When asked by Vicki whether she knew about his new relationship, Kim said, "Hindi ko alam, doc. Wala akong idea."

The It's Showtime host shared that now, she doesn't want to have "too much expectations on what will happen" in the coming years and simply wants to enjoy herself in life.

Despite this, Kim previously said she's open to finding love again. "'Di man sa ngayon muna, pero hopefully in the next months to come. Kasi ang love naman, marami namang kayang magbigay ng love, and willing naman ako tumanggap. Basta, kasali sa buhay 'yun, i-embrace nating lahat."

Kim and Xian began dating in 2012. It wasn't until 2018, however, that they made their relationship public.
