LOOK: Kim Chiu gives glimpse at her minimalist rest house overlooking Taal Volcano
Kim Chiu blessed her fans with an extensive look at her three-story minimalist house that has a majestic view of Taal Volcano.
In celebration of reaching three million subscribers on her YouTube channel, the Kapamilya actress took her followers on a tour of her Tagaytay rest house which she describes as a fruit of her hard work.
"Dito ko talaga china-charge 'yung sarili ko, Kunyari away from the city, kapag gusto ko magpahinga, lumanghap ng fresh air," Kim shared.
Kim started the tour at the entrance, which featured a garage and a heated swimming pool.
Adding to the coziness are the pine trees with lanterns affixed to them, which Kim said gives the place a unique and provincial vibe.
Before, the local star's rest house was much simpler, but it was now renovated to include canopies with a bricked roof and a wooden ceiling to provide a more "aesthetic and modern look." It was also repainted to have white walls rather than black to complement the natural surroundings.
The entrance also has two Fu dog statues, a Chinese architectural ornament used to ward bad spirits away.
Another highlight of her home's exterior is the dirty kitchen that's complete with a stove and a sink, an outdoor living space where you can have drinks, and a fire pit.
"Perfect spot siya to recharge and re-energize habang [nagpapahinga]. Literal na rest house talaga to kasi makakapag-rest ka, makapag-isip ka," Kim said.
Inside her humble abode are furniture and decorations that all sport a white, minimalist look, giving the area an almost ethereal feel.
On why she opted to have her house designed this way, Kim explained, "Sobrang simple lang talaga dito sa lugar na 'toh. Parang gusto ko lang siya maging minimalist lang atsaka pahingaan lang talaga."
One stand-out decor in her living room is her agate-designed carpet, which gives the space a "harmonious" feel. She styled the room with paintings, scented candles, and rubber plants.
Located on the second floor is Kim's dining area, which has a six-seater dining table made of glass. The room is decorated with a large painting of eight koi fish swimming around a yin-yang symbol, which signifies peace, harmony, and infinity.
There's also a money tree that was gifted by her feng shui master and a comfy sofa.
In what Kim described as one of the more "breathtaking" spots in her house, the third floor has a balcony where Kim goes to unwind and jokingly shout out her feelings. The floor also has five rooms, with the It's Showtime's room having a gorgeous view of the sunset.
"Nandito talaga 'yung view na sobrang priceless, tapos kita mo na 'yung kawalan, 'yung araw, 'yung ulap, 'yung bundok, 'yung huni ng mga ibon. Parang nasa ibang planeta ako kapag nandito na, kapag relax talaga ako, nakakapag-isip, tsaka nacecenter ko 'yung sarili ko," Kim highlighted.
Kim rose to prominence as the first teen winner of Pinoy Big Brother in 2006. Her rest house is one of the many milestones that she shared with her fans.
In 2019, she shared a glimpse of her childhood house in Cebu. She recalled living in a small apartment, with the dining room, bedroom, and kitchen all together in a small room.
“This is the place kung saan kami nakatira and this is our house before [kung saan] dating nangarap at natupad. Dito talaga nag-start lahat,” a teary Kim said.
In the same video, Kim showed her viewers a look at her new condo unit in Cebu.
