Actress Angelica Panganiban underwent another hip surgery to cure the death of her bone tissue.

In an Oct. 19 vlog posted on her YouTube channel with husband Gregg Homan called The Homans, Panganiban said she underwent core decompression to treat her avascular necrosis months ago. The procedure involves drilling small holes into the affected bone to relieve pressure and promote blood flow.

But the procedure, the 37-year-old said, only made her feel worse.

"After a month kong nag-bed rest, after a month noong surgery, bumalik kami sa doctor," she said. "Ako ang nakakaramdam, of course, and I am explaining na walang nangyari. Kung tutuusin, mas sumama ang pakiramdam ko."

Her doctor told her to bear with the pain and wait for five years before undergoing hip replacement, but Panganiban said she couldn't take it anymore.

"Defeated ka na nga, talo ka na sa sakit mo, then ihihiga ko lang. Hihiga lang ako nang five years," she said.

Panganiban said she couldn't afford to let her daughter grow up without playing with her.

"Kasi kung walang paraan at 'yun na talaga 'yung situation ko, then I have no choice. But kung may paraan, 'yun ang hindi ko matatanggap," she said.

The death of her 61-year-old mother last August, Panganiban said, made her appreciate life's transience even more, prompting her to put conscious effort into addressing her health.

"Hindi ako papayag na may mangyari sa akin na ang dami kong regrets, ang dami kong sana sa buhay," she said.

Panganiban told fans to listen to their bodies if ever they're feeling anything.

"Walang ibang mas nakakaalam nang nararamdaman mo kung hindi ikaw," she said. "Kung ano ang sa tingin mong tama, you have to fight for it."

Following her latest hip surgery, Panganiban said she was able to walk for five hours though still felt some form of pain.

"Ikaw ba naman, tanggalan ng buto sa balakang, di ba?" she said. "Pero 'yung sakit niya is sore, kasi bugbog na bugbog lang ang pakiramdam. Kung may iba pa akong nararamdamang pain, like 'yung avascular necrosis pain, nawala talaga 'yon on my left side."

"Naiiyak ako," she added. "Happy [na] wala nang sakit."

Panganiban first underwent hip surgery last July.

She opened up about her avascular necrosis in November 2023. She recalled experiencing pain around July 2022 when she was pregnant. After giving birth, she then continued to feel aches while working out so she had it checked out.

Panganiban started PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment but said she wasn't getting better.
