Iza Calzado expresses support for daughter Deia if she wants to enter showbiz
Iza Calzado opened up about how she's been thinking about her daughter Deia Amihan's future, particularly if her baby will follow in her footsteps.
On her Instagram account, the actress delighted her followers when she shared some snaps of herself with her one-year-old daughter from a recent photoshoot. In the caption, she took the time to reflect on her motherhood journey a year after she welcomed Deia in January 2023.
"I never knew how great life would be once I became a mother," Calzado began.
"When we did this shoot, I couldn’t help but look back on my time before I became a mother— I used to think that my life revolved around my career, but now I see that my life has bloomed into even more than that as a mother," she continued.
She highlighted that getting to have shoots with her baby made work days "more beautiful, meaningful, and precious."
Calzado then opened up about how she has been thinking about whether Deia would want to enter the showbiz life in the future.
"I can’t help but wonder if, when Deia grows up, she’ll love it as much as I do, or will she be more like her father who shies away from the camera," she wrote.
She underscored, "Whatever path she takes, I just pray she loves her life as much as I do."
The local star ended her post by gushing about how she enjoys her life much better with her daughter by her side.
"I love doing life with Deia! Everything is so much more colorful, more vibrant, more beautiful with her in my life. And to share these moments, to have these images with her, to me, are just so priceless," Calzado wrote.
In the comments section, some fans expressed their excitement at Deia becoming just like her mother.
"Ganda ni baby, tulad ka din kay mommy paglaki! Nag-aaral na magpose sa camera," one user wrote.
She and her husband Ben Wintle introduced their baby girl to the public in an Instagram post in March 2023. The first-time mom previously shared that the name was inspired by a place in Mallorca, Spain and her character in Encantadia.
“(Deia) stems from a Latin or Greek term that means goddess or joy. And that resonated with me so I… because of course she was already bringing me so much joy at that moment," she said.
