After welcoming first child, Jessie J pens sweet message to boyfriend she met following her miscarriage
Jessie J is making sure that her boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman knows that he means the whole world to her as she penned him a sweet greeting weeks after they welcomed their first baby.
On her Instagram Story, Jessie shared a picture of Colman, a player for the Israel Basketball Premier League, sitting by her side during the birth of their son in May.
"I struggle to keep things private," she opened her message. "I think if you know me, you know that I want to protect people I love and keep it for myself."
Despite this, she just couldn't keep quiet about how much she appreciates the love of her life, because as she puts it, "Life is short and don’t want to regret it. Once you open the door, you can’t close it."
Jessie then went on to reveal that she crossed paths with Colman only weeks after her heartbreaking miscarriage in 2021. At the time, she opened up on social media that after a third checkup at the hospital, doctors told her there was "no longer a heartbeat."
Jessie found the strength and hope to move forward in Colman, "Like a beam of light, he lit up my dark days. It was a whirlwind love and a miracle that we fell pregnant naturally with not one issue during. Grateful doesn't cut it."
She then detailed some of the things he did for her that made her love him even more.
"He has given me many of the best gifts of my life. He didn't let go of my hand [during the birth of our son] and I wouldn't have been able to go through it without him," Jessie said, calling Colman as "the calm to my crazy", "the peace to my fear" and "the Daddy to my baby."
The 35-year-old singer revealed that she welcomed her bundle of joy last month through an Instagram Story on May 19
"A week ago my whole life changed. My son entered this world and my heart grew twice the size. The feeling is indescribable. I am flying in love," she wrote.
"He is magic. He is all my dreams come true. He is my whole. He and I are both doing great. I am soaking up every second and still can't believe he is real, mine and here," she addded before expressing her gratitude to her fans for their continued support.
In a recent Instagram post, Jessie then revealed that her son was delivered through an unplanned C-section despite preparing for months for natural birth. However, she changed her mind when a problem arose when she had a checkup.
"I had a scan at a few days off of 40 weeks and he was completely the wrong way around and stuck as he was a little chunkier than your average and long. I did everything to try and turn him for 2 months but he said 'Nah mum I wanna make an entrance out the roof, not the front door'. I was advised to have a planned C section for the safest birth," she recounted.
Although it didn't turn out the way the singer wanted it to, Jessie said, "I had a birth and it was everything I wanted because I got him at the end of it, that’s all that matters."
Jessie first announced in January that she was expecting a baby, over a year after she had a miscarriage in November 2021.
