Lola Amour's Angelo Mesina is now a licensed doctor
In a world where art and science often seem at odds, the story of a musician who passes the licensure examinations exemplifies the beauty of interdisciplinary pursuits.
Case in point: Lola Amour member Angelo Mesina is among the 3,845 individuals who passed the recently concluded Physicians Licensure Examination.
On its social media account, the seven-piece band announced the good news alongside a photo of Mesina wearing an all-white scrub suit and a photo of a younger Mesina with a text that read: "Noon pa, gusto ko na maging doctor."
"Our boy made it!!! Everyone say congratulations Doc Mesina for passing the boards!" Lola Amour wrote in the caption.
Lola Amour was formed in Muntinlupa in 2013, dabbling in genres of modern rock, funk, and pop, and their peculiar sound is a "synthesis of disparate musical influences."
For the Filipino rock band, Angelo plays the trumpet and guitar.
They are known for their hit songs Raining in Manila, Namimiss Ko Na, Fallen, and among others.
On Oct. 19, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 3,845 out of 6,600 (58.26 percent) passed the Physicians Licensure Examination.
The exam was conducted on Oct. 5, 6, 12, and 13 at testing centers in Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
