Justin Timberlake back on tour after DWI arrest

Justin Timberlake had his first live show after being arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in New York City.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, the singer held his concert at the United Center in Chicago on Friday, June 21, where he opened up about having a "tough week" to his fans.

"I know sometimes I'm hard to love but you keep on loving me and I love you right back," said the former NSYNC member.

Timberlake, 43, was taken into custody during the early hours of June 18. A police officer pulled him over upon seeing him driving through a stop sign and failing to stay on the right side of the road.

Timberlake reportedly told police that he "had one martini" and was following his friends home.

CBS, citing court documents, reported that Timberlake's eyes were "bloodshot and glassy," and he "performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests."

"Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment," police said.

His next court date would be a virtual appearance on July 26.

His lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., said in a statement that he's looking forward to "vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake" against the allegations. "He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery from the DA's office," he continued.

Timberlake has been on a concert tour since April to promote his sixth album Everything I Thought It Was.
