YG Entertainment announces dates, venues for 2NE1's comeback concert
This is not a drill: 2NE1 is finally returning to the concert stage!
In a social media post on Thursday, YG Entertainment announced that the K-pop girl group will hold a comeback concert on October 5 and 6 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul, South Korea.
"We hope this news will be a great gift to BLACKJACK, who have been waiting for 2NE1 for a long time," the agency said on its website.
Those who are planning to go to Korea and catch this much-waited comeback can already reserve tickets through the Interpark Ticketing website starting Monday, August 5.
General reservations allow up to 4 tickets per person per show and can be purchased until the reservation deadline.
Ticket prices cost 165,000 won (P6,970.68) for both standing and reserved seats.
This announcement came after YG Entertainment founder and executive producer Yang Hyun Suk confirmed that all 2NE1 members—CL, Dara, Minzy, and Park Bom—would like to do a concert to commemorate their 15th anniversary, which was celebrated last May.
"We caught up and happily discussed making it all happen within this year,” he said.
The world tour will kick off in Seoul this October and will have stops in Osaka and Tokyo from November to December before continuing through 2025.
“I think this concert will be quite special; It resonates with those who grew up with 2NE1’s music,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sandara Park has her fingers crossed for a stop in the Philippines in 2NE1’s upcoming world tour, saying that "this is one of my [wishes] syempre" after Filo Blackjacks asked her to perform in the country as part of their tour.
Rumors of their comeback began in May after insiders reported that the group’s leader, CL, had a “secret meeting” with the YG Entertainment executive, to which YG Entertainment briefly addressed, “It was not an official company meeting, and we cannot confirm further details at this time.”
In June, the group had an "extremely meaningful" conversation with the executive producer, further fueling comeback rumors.
The second-gen K-pop girl group marked its 15th debut anniversary on May 17 with new group photos.
They also performed on stage together at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival—six years after their disbandment in November 2016. Following that, the members have been busy with their solo careers under different agencies.
They are known for their hit songs, including Fire, I Don't Care, I Am The Best, Ugly, Can’t Nobody, and Come Back Home.
