ICYMI: IU and Park Bo Gum will star in new K-drama set in Jeju Island
Calling all IU and Park Bo Gum fans!
In case you missed it: IU and Park Bo Gum will star in a new drama dubbed You Have Done Well.
According to K-entertainment website Soompi, production company Pan Entertainment announced the news just recently, teasing that it will revolve around Ae Soon and Gwan Shik who grew up on Jeju Island in the 1950s.
The outlet reported that IU will play the role of Ae Soon, a bubbly woman who can’t help but feel nervous when she unleashes her rebellious side. Even though she is not part of a well-off family, she remains happy and positive in life. While she’s unable to attend school, she hopes to become a poet one day.
For his part, Park Bo Gum will portray a diligent and quiet man named Gwan Shik. “Romance isn’t a strength for him, however, and he doesn’t know how to act if Ae Soon cries or laughs, but he is a silent warrior who only loves Ae Soon from the very beginning and pours his all into loving her,” Soompi stated in the same report.
Slated for production in early 2023, the upcoming drama will be written by Im Sang Choon (Fight for My Way and When the Camellia Blooms) and directed by Kim Won Seok (Misaeng, Signal, and My Mister).
