'Young Sheldon' star Raegan Revord to publish young adult novel

Who would've thought Missy Cooper would be an author?

Jokes aside, Raegan Revord, the young actress who played the character of Missy in the hit CBS sitcom Young Sheldon, is entering her author era by publishing her first young adult book.

In case you didn't know, Raegan's character is the polar opposite of her incredibly geeky and highly intelligent twin brother Sheldon. Yet, she is charming and amicable, with a cheeky sense of humor.

In her social media posts, the 16-year-old actress excitedly announced the news, saying that her novel, titled Rules For Fake Girlfriends, will be released in 2025 in hardcover, ebook, and audio formats under Wednesday Books, an imprint of The St. Martin's Publishing Group.

"I've been a fan of Wednesday Books since I began reading YA, so to have my debut novel be published under Eileen's expertise and guidance has been a dream come true. I am so excited for readers to go on this journey with Avery and her friends," she wrote in the caption.

"Inclusive Stories are more important now than ever, and I'm excited to have been given the opportunity to share Rules for Fake Girlfriends with readers," she added.

In a Yahoo! New Zealand exclusive, Raegan's upcoming book is said to follow the story of Avery Blackwell, who attends her mom's alma mater, Brighton College, following her mother's death. Avery meets a girl named Charlie who asks her to pretend to be her girlfriend. Together, the two also embark on a scavenger hunt left behind by Avery's mother.

Meanwhile, citing Wednesday Books publishers, the media outlet said, "Rules for Fake Girlfriends is perfect for fans of novels like Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston."

An avid reader

Raegan herself is a counterpole of her mischievous character in Young Sheldon.

In 2022, the young actress proved she was a bookworm when she started her book club, Read with Raegan. In this online community forum, young adults may participate in book discussions, read author interviews, and build relationships with other readers.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated return of Young Sheldon for a seventh season is set to begin on CBS on Thursday, Feb. 15. Following its broadcast debut, episodes will be available for streaming on Paramount+ the day after.

Although the series' first six seasons are presently available on Netflix, there is no news yet whether season 7 will be available on the streaming platform.
