Jimmy Santos reveals he earns money through recycling bottles in Canada

As the saying goes, "One man's trash is another man's treasure," and comedian Jimmy Santos took that to heart as he is now earning money through recycling bottles in Canada.

The former Eat Bulaga! host shared this in a new vlog posted on his YouTube channel. In the video, Jimmy could be seen pushing a cart containing used cans and bottles to local recycling center South Pointe Bottle Depot.

Talaga namang dinideposito nila dito at binibenta nila," Jimmy said.

He explained that the bottles each have different prices depending on their type so as citizens will be encouraged to partake in bottle recycling, "May halaga po ito, kaya po ang bawat isa nito, may bawas kapag binili niyo.

The video then shows Jimmy enlisting the help of a worker to segregate the empty cans and bottles and count how many he will deposit. Once that was done, he was given a receipt that he scanned in a machine, which then dispersed the money he earned totaling to 15 Canadian dollars and a few coins.

In the comments section, many of his fans and followers praised him for his part in lessening waste in the environment and for living a rather simple and humble life in Canada.

"Marangal na gawain kabayan na dapat mong ipagmalaki. It takes humility to do that task and I'm pretty much sure na ang mga Pinoys nasa abroad are proud of you," one user wrote.

You're an inspirational person."

Others said, "Thank you Jimmy for showing that. Life here in Canda is very different from Philippines. And mangangalakal or collecting recycling bottles and cans are part of life here. You can get money and also help Mother Nature not to have more garbages in Canada."

Jimmy was last seen in Eat Bulaga's Christmas episode of its "Bawal Judgmental" segment in 2021. He seemed to have flown to Canada some months back, as shown when he posted a YouTube video in April where he talked about ice fishing in the country.
