Hey, millennials: NSYNC is expected to reunite for upcoming ‘Trolls’ sequel

Heads up, millennials. Expect to squeeze yourselves into theaters with your kids, pamangkins, or inaanaks, as NSYNC—one of your fave boy bands of the ‘90s—is reportedly reuniting for the animated film Trolls Band Together.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that the five-piece boy group is getting together to play “surprising roles” in the film which, like the franchise’s two previous films (Trolls and Trolls World Tour), will star NSYNC star Justine Timberlake.

“JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick are expected to have surprise roles in the third Trolls film, Trolls Band Together, with Justin Timberlake,” the source told ET.

Not only that, the source said that the group is reportedly coming up with a new song for the film. (So, make sure to make some room in your ‘90s hits playlist, NSYNC fans!)

Trolls Band Together tells the story of its two central trolls, Branch—who is voiced by Timberlake—and Poppy (Anne Kendrick) after the events of Trolls World Tour where (spoiler alert!) Branch professes his feelings for Poppy.

In the upcoming movie, the new couple goes on an adventure after Poppy finds out that Branch and his brothers (voiced by Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, and Eric André) were once a hit boy band called “BroZone.”

Similar to some real-life boy bands, the group of brothers had a mysterious fallout. The reason was explained in the film’s trailer where one brother, Floyd (André) is seen delivering witty lines alluding to actual boy groups of the past.

“Branch, we’re out of sync,” Floyd tells his brother. “We’ve gone from boys to men, and now, there’s only one direction for us to go: to the back streets.”

Trolls Band Together is set to hit U.S. theaters on Nov. 17 and Philippine cinemas on Nov. 29.

NSYNC, meanwhile, debuted in 1995 and rose to fame for hits like (God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You, Thinking of You ( I Drive Myself Crazy), Bye Bye Bye, It’s Gonna Be Me, and This I Promise You.

The supergroup has sold over 70 million records worldwide, earned 17 awards, and completed five U.S. tours before they officially disbanded in 2004.
