Charlie Puth reveals he wrote 'We Don’t Talk Anymore' when he was in the Philippines in August 2016

Love jamming out to We Don't Talk Anymore? Charlie Puth revealed he penned the hit song during his last visit to the Philippines in 2016, adding that he "can't wait" to write his next hit in the country.

Noting that the PH has a special place in his heart, the singer reminisced about his Manila trip in August 2016 as he pointed out how warm and community-driven Filipinos are. "Just how warm everybody is, how community-driven, everybody sticks together. I remember driving around the city, people sitting in the park, in a circle, the family but even non-family members, everybody is there, and that made me happy to see," he said in an interview with ABS-CBN News, where he was asked about what he remembers most about his last visit here.

Charlie disclosed his plans to go back to the Philippines next year, but remained tight-lipped about further details, including a specific date. "I can’t wait to see them. I know it’s been quite some time but I can’t wait to write the next ‘We Don't Talk Anymore’ in the Philippines because I always seem to have some success in creativity based in the Philippines. I think that’s in part because people are so kind," he continued.

The singer dropped his third album CHARLIE on Friday, Oct. 7, featuring 12 songs including Light Switch, Charlie Be Quiet!, and global hit Left and Right along with BTS member Jungkook. He announced the news in an Instagram post on Saturday, Oct. 8 with the caption: "Albums out now."

In the same chat, Charlie said his LP record was "born on the Internet." He explained: "I said that because it’s not like I’m looking for critiques and things to use for making the album, but it was almost like performing for people when I was making the album."
