From Maris Racal to Daniel Padilla: Celebrities who watched Rivermaya's reunion concert
The stars were out as Rivermaya came together for their reunion concert last February 17.
The 90s hit band—composed of Bamboo Mañalac, Mark Escueta, Nathan Azarcon, and Rico Blanco—played the SMDC concert grounds stage, singing their classic tracks Ulan, Elisi, Kisapmata, and more.
Several celebrities were spotted at the concert, rocking out with other Rivermaya fans during the Feb. 17 show.
Maris Racal was a supportive girlfriend as she cheered on her beau Rico Blanco before and during the concert. She even had a sign that read "Rico My Oppa" and a headband with the singer's face.
"RIVERMAYA THE REUNION WAS [FIRE.] What an experience! Witnessed GREAT chemistry on stage. [And] they played Sunog during soundcheck (THANK YOU)," Maris wrote on Instagram, sharing pictures and photos from the night.
Maris sat together with fellow actors Kaila Estrada, Darren Espanto, RK Bagatsing, and Jaine Oineza.
Speaking of supportive partners, Mark Escueta's wife Jolina Magdangal also cheered the band on. The actress posted a Reel before the concert, hyping the nostalgia that those in attendance would feel.
"Para kayong bumalik dun sa panahon na kasama mo barkada (ako nung highschool at college) mo at kumakanta kayo ng Rivermaya songs pero nasa mundo na ng Gen-Z," she captioned a video of her sitting at Mark's drumset.
Another celebrity who couldn't help but gush over the Rivermaya experience was Bela Padilla who kept sharing photos and videos on Instagram Stories.
"The amount of times I've listened to this and Wag Na Init Ulo Baby... and all their other songs," she captioned with a video of her singing along to the band.
Bela watched the concert with her older brother Mark, who she said introduced her to Rivermaya. The actress also saw "childhood friend" Jericho Rosales during the show.
In the same row as Bela were Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli, ABS-CBN reported.
Meanwhile, another big name who was seen in the crowd was Daniel Padilla, who took to Instagram Stories to share a glimpse of the fireworks display after the show.
ABS-CBN News also spotted Dominic Roque who was with Judy Ann Santos, her husband Ryan Agoncillo, and their daughter Yohan.
Rivermaya first released their debut album in 1994 with Bamboo, Rico, Mark, Nathan, and Perf de Castro as members. Perf left the band in 1995, followed by Bamboo in 1998, and Rico in 2007. The band is still active to this day, with Mark and Nathan as the remaining original members.
