Iza Calzado stays fit with gym workouts while pregnant

Iza Calzado is set on maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle while in the middle of her pregnancy journey.

In a video shared by her trainer Culver Padilla on his Instagram, the actress could be seen enjoying her time at the gym as she lifted, pushed, and pulled weights, and did other strength training exercises.

This is because strong moms grow strong babies, as stressed by Padilla.

"During pregnancy, exercise can help you stay in shape and prepare for labor and delivery. For most pregnant women, at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise is recommended on most, if not all, days of the week," he explained.

While Calzado's fans flooded the comments section with supportive messages, some were also concerned about her health and the status of her baby as she was already four months into her pregnancy.

"Wag po sobrahan. Exercise is good in moderation for pregnant mommies. Pero kapag sobra, it might harm the developing fetus inside," one user wrote.

However, Padilla assured that working out is still good for pregnant women as long as it isn't extreme.

"Strength training is okay, as long as you stick to relatively low weights. 'Yung tipong pwede pa kayo magusap at magtawanan," Padilla wrote, sharing that he only gave Calzado safe workouts that would strengthen her body during pregnancy.

The actress first announced that she was carrying her first child with her husband Ben Wintle on her 40th birthday. The couple recently went on a trip in Europe so that Calzado could mentally and emotionally prepare for this next chapter of her life.

The actress announced last Sunday that their trip was coming to end while also flaunting her growing baby bump.

"As our UK trip comes to an end, one can only be grateful for every experience— he good and bad, the highs and the lows. Everything is part of the journey. What a wonderful ride life is! Remember that no matter how dark the night, the sun always rises," she wrote in her caption.
