After renewing contracts for group activities, Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé of BLACKPINK have decided not to renew their exclusive contracts with YG Entertainment for their solo activities, the agency said on Friday, Dec. 29.

“BLACKPINK recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities,” the agency said as translated by South Korean media Soompi

“We will do our utmost to support BLACKPINK’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts,” it added.

Before this, Jennie announced that she launched her label OA (ODD ATELIER) in November with a vision of “[creating] new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected." The agency will be focused on her future solo activities outside of BLACKPINK.

BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 under YG Entertainment. They’re best known for their hit songs How You Like That, Kill This Love, Shut Down, and Typa Girl, among others.

Its members have made their solo debuts in previous years, with Jennie debuting with a single dubbed Solo in November 2018, while Lisa and Rosé released their solo music in 2021 with LALISA and On the Ground, respectively. Jisoo, meanwhile, made her solo debut in March this year with a single album dubbed ME, which includes tracks Flower and All Eyes On Me
