Red Velvet's Joy and Lovely Runner star Kim Hye Yoon will reportedly team up as besties for a new webtoon-based drama with the working title The Year We Turned 29.

According to Joy's agency, SM Entertainment, the 27-year-old idol has received the offer to appear in the drama and is "currently reviewing it."

Meanwhile, a representative from Hye Yoon's agency, Artist Company, noted that the actress is also still considering the offer, adding, "Nothing has been confirmed yet."

It was in April 2022 when the latter was also in discussions for a lead role in the said drama.

The Year We Turned 29 tackles a youth romance involving three individuals, all aged 29.

According to Soompi, the drama follows the lives of three people named Woo RiBong Woo Ri, Cha Woo Ri, and Kim Woo Ri—as they approach their 30s navigating the challenges of love, work, and studies.

Further details such as the premiere date, where to watch it, and other artists included in the drama have yet to be announced.

In other news, Joy, along with Red Velvet co-members Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Yeri, is set to release a new mini album this month. This follows their third album, Chill Kill, which was released in November last year.
