Matteo Guidicelli says he’s still not on speaking terms with Sarah Geronimo’s parents
Matteo Guidicelli revealed he’s still not on speaking terms with Sarah Geronimo’s parents as he expressed his hope for everything to be okay for his wife’s “peace of mind.”
In the May 15 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the actor opened up about his relationship with his parents-in-law. “We’re civil, I’d like to believe so,” he said, “and I pray every day for wisdom, for strength, wisdom, and humility na hopefully, one day, maging okay ang lahat for Sarah’s peace of mind.”
Matteo said he wants to respect Mommy Divine and Tatay Delfin “the best way possible.”
“I just wish one day, everything will be okay because I know how much they love Sarah and I know how much Sarah loves them.”
When asked whether or not the Popstar Royalty is talking to her parents, Matteo simply pointed out that they “have a connection.”
He also talked about Sarah G’s touching tribute to her parents at her recently concluded 20th anniversary concert, where she flashed a slideshow of her photos with her mom and dad as she sang her rendition of Wency Cornejo’s Habang May Buhay. “Love you, Ma. Love you, Daddy,” she said after her moving performance. She was seen and heard trying not to cry.
“She did a tribute for her dad and mom during the show. It was so touching and it was so beautiful. The whole Araneta was crying, kumbaga. It was so nice,” he recalled.
Matteo went on to stress the importance of honoring one’s parents no matter what. “Through thick and thin, you know, whatever happens in life, they’re parents. They brought us to life and we have to honor them.”
The actor was then directly asked if he talks to Sarah’s parents, to which he replied with a “no.”
“In life, you know, all these possibilities in life, they’re all doable, possible if you have the proper intentions to do anything. If it’s pure, straightforward, and with a pure heart, anything is possible,” he added.
In a now-deleted post in October 2022, Sarah G penned an apology letter to her parents for supposedly causing them pain. While she didn't specify what it was, she had secretly married her longtime boyfriend in February that year. According to reports, it caused a rift between her and her parents, who have since been conspicuously absent in her concerts.
