Sarah Geronimo pens lengthy apology letter to her parents

While she emphasized that she wanted to keep her personal life a closed notebook, Sarah Geronimo decided to take the opportunity to mend her tattered bond with her parents by posting a sincere apology letter to them on Instagram on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The actress and singer began her now-deleted letter by checking up on everyone's safety amid the onslaught of Tropical Storm Paeng before getting into the heart of her message. "Gusto ko kunin ang pagkakataon na ito, sa paraan din na ito, na humingi ng tawad sa aking pamilya na labis na nasaktan sa aking mga naging desisyon sa buhay. Patawad po," Sarah wrote.
She then took the time to express her gratitude to her parents for all of their support and love, adding, "Araw-araw ko po kayo nami-miss at naiisip."
The Popstar Royalty went on to share the important lessons that she has learned from her situation such as accepting that life isn't perfect, staying humble, and seeing the importance of loving your family despite your differences.
"Ang pamilya ay binuo ng Diyos, at patuloy itong magiging buo kung pagmamahal at pagpapakumbaba ang paiiralin sa ating mga puso ano man ang pagkakaiba o maging choices, desisyon sa buhay ng bawat isa," Sarah wrote.
Thanking her fans and her manager for their unending encouragement, the singer reminded everyone to always value their time with their loved ones and show them how much they are appreciated.
"'Wag po natin kakalimutang pahalagahan ang bawat oras at pagkakataon na binibigay sa atin ni Lord para maiparamdam sa ating mga mahal sa buhay kung gaano sila kahalaga, kung gaano natin sila kamahal," Sarah wrote.
"Malayo man sila o malapit, yakapin natin sila nang mahigpit sa pamamagitan ng pagtanggap at pagpili sa kanila," she added.
The 34-year-old singer ended her message by highlighting that her whole family serves as her inspiration in life and how being with them is her definition of success and freedom.
"Para sa inyo ang aking muling pagyakap sa musika at pagkakataon na muling makapagbigay ng saya at inspirasyon sa ibang tao," she wrote.
To recount her past with her estranged family, Sarah's relationship with her parents is known to have been stained when she and Matteo Guidicelli tied the knot in a secret wedding in February 2020 without their family's knowledge.
Sarah’s mother Divine did not approve of their relationship, which is why she allegedly caused what fans referred to as "divine intervention" during the intimate ceremony by showing up unexpectedly and making a scene.
Sarah recently made headlines with the release of her new single Dati-Dati early this month. This was after two long years of being away from the limelight following her wedding to her husband.
