Kim Kardashian settles divorce with Kanye West
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have finalized their divorce, Page Six has confirmed the news.
Page Six is a US-based entertainment media house. According to court documents accessed by Page Six, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will have joint custody of their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
However, sources close to Kim have told TMZ that she will continue to have the kids 80% of the time.
As per the divorce settlement, Kanye will give Kim USD 200,000 (over P11 million) a month in child support.
"Commencing Dec. 1, 2022, Respondent (West) shall pay to Petitioner (Kardashian) as and for child support the sum of $200,000 per month. The child support shall be paid by wire transfer on the first day of each month to an account to be designated by Petitioner," court documents read.
He is also responsible for half of the children's educational expenses, such as tuition, as well as security costs.
According to the settlement, if Kim and Kanye ever disagree about one of their four children—especially on big decisions in line with their health, education, and welfare—they must go to mediation for "at least three hours with a mutually agreed upon retired judicial officer based in Southern California" and exert a "good faith effort" to fix it, as stated in a report by Fox News. If neither party attends mediation, the participating party becomes the decision-maker.
Page Six added that property assets were divided in alignment with their prenuptial agreement. They both waived spousal support.
Kim and Kanye began dating in 2011 and welcomed their first daughter North in 2013. In 2014, they tied the knot.
The former couple separated on Dec. 26, 2020. Fox News reported that on Feb. 19, 2021, Kim filed the judgment for a dissolution of marriage, marking her third divorce. She was previously married to Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004 and parted ways with ex-Kris Humphries in 2011 after 72 days of being married. (ANI)
