Content creator Jen Barangan issued an apology after drawing flak for using her phone's camera flash during Olivia Rodrigo's recently concluded concert in the Philippines.

On her social media pages, the internet personality posted a brief statement after she was criticized for filming herself with her phone's camera flash on during the show. Social media users pointed out that it may have brought inconvenience to audience members behind her.

"To everyone, I'm so sorry for my actions. Best, Jen," Barangan wrote.

In the video, which has garnered 4.3 million views and more than 150,000 reactions as of writing, Barangan filmed herself for about 50 seconds with her phone's camera flash on as she loudly sang Rodrigo's song The Grudge.

Internet users pointed out in the comments section her lack of "concert etiquette," with some asserting that the light coming from her camera flash can be painful to the eyes and could distract others from enjoying the concert.

"Please, if any one of y’all will attend a concert, don’t do this. Maawa kayo sa mga astigmatic," one user said.

Another one commented, "There are people like me with photosensitivity na 'pag prolonged exposure sa flash could trigger an anxiety attack or light-triggered seizure. This is not okay."

Some of Barangan's fans, however, came to her defense and argued that the former flight attendant was simply enjoying the moment.

"She’s just enjoying her life and doing what she loves," one user wrote.

"Real fans know that enjoying a concert is all about the vibe, not the volume. You captured the moment how you wanted, and that's what matters! keep slaying!" another highlighted.

Others said that while it's okay to use your phone's camera flash, concertgoers should still be mindful about whether their actions are causing inconvenience to other people nearby.

"For me, okay lang basta wag lang whole time or every song naka-back flash on. To be honest, kapag nasa concert ka na kasi, 'di mo na alam na nakakaabala ka na pala sa sobrang saya mo," one commenter advised.

Rodrigo arrived in Manila on Oct. 3 before her GUTS concert at the Philippine Arena.

The GUTS World Tour concert film will be streamed on Netflix starting Oct. 29.

Rodrigo first became known for appearing on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark and the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Her hit songs include driver's licensedeja vu, and good 4 u, which earned her three Grammys.
