Elisse Joson reveals why she's not rushing into marriage with McCoy De Leon

Elisse Joson is no way rushing to tie the knot with her longtime love McCoy De Leon.

At a recently concluded brand event, the actress briefly talked about her future plans with her significant other, including the possibility of getting married anytime soon.

"Kapag mga ganun, nakakastress sagutin," she told the press, adding that they "will get there."

"Last year, we wanted to be quiet about our family and relationship because we wanted to make it stronger," she recalled.

According to Elisse, they are currently focusing on achieving the dreams they have individually and as a couple.

"Hanggang ngayon, ganun pa rin na ang hirap madaliin ng kasal and the foundation is rocky," she explained. "'Wag na muna po. We're busy building the life of our dreams tulad ng bahay."

In August 2023, Elisse revealed that she and McCoy were already talking about marriage, but noted that it's all about perfect timing.

"Siguro nasa tamang panahon po. Napapag-usapan naman po. Pero yung definite kung kailan, wala pa po yun," she said in an interview with entertainment site PEP. "Parang ngayon po, we want to take advantage of the fact na nabibigyan kami ng trabaho to save up for the family."

McCoy and Elisse met on reality TV show Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 in 2016, where their romance bloomed. They briefly broke up in 2019 and reconciled two years later. They welcomed their first child in April 2021.

McCoy confirmed that he and Elisse broke up in January last year but reconciliation rumors swirled between them two weeks later. In an interview the following month, he said he’s again “happy” with Elisse.
