Ivana Alawi, Zeinab Harake express frustration over removal of millions-strong Facebook pages: 'No violations, no update'
Actress and influencer Ivana Alawi has taken to social media to express her frustration over the removal of her verified Facebook page.
In an Instagram video, Alawi said that Facebook did not give her any warning before taking down her page with over 19M likes.
"No violations, no update kung bakit nila tinanggal and bigla nalang nila rinemove," she said. "Wala silang update samin so sana maayos niyo."
She also asked her over 8M Instagram followers if they knew anyone from Facebook or Meta to alleviate the problem.
In the caption for the video, the actress also said that the business page for her skincare brand also disappeared a few hours after her verified personal page.
"There must be something deeper to this, why are big pages being targeted? Is Facebook even safe for creators and influencers?" she queried.
Ivana also shared that fellow social media influencer Zeinab Harake also had her verified page removed with over 13M followers and has been trying to recover it for the past month.
"It’s been almost a month since her page has disappeared and endless promises from [the] Facebook team to resolve her problem but still no update," Alawi wrote.
"No one knows what’s happening or when it will get resolved or what to do. Who knows how many more are experiencing this??"
"It’s really frustrating, sad and disappointing for those of us who really supported and pushed this platform for years," the actress concluded.
Harake shared the Instagram video on her Stories shortly after.
Ivana has been a content creator for over three years, as she started vlogging in 2019 and gained popularity through her family vlogs and social media presence. Zeinab has also been a longtime vlogger with over 13M subscribers on YouTube.
They were both dubbed as YouTube PH's top content creators of 2021.
As of writing, Ivana and Zeinab's Facebook pages are still unavailable on the site.
