Zsa Zsa Padilla shares positive health update after surgery: 'Happy to be around'
Zsa Zsa Padilla shared a health update following her successful surgery to address a ureter issue.
The actress and singer took to Instagram on Wednesday, Aug. 21, to share the good news, posting a photo of herself smiling and looking healthy.
“This was taken a few minutes ago after the clinic took out my catheter. My doctor asked if [I] was taking collagen ‘coz I healed pretty well. I take a lot of supplements!” she wrote in the caption.
“Everyone seems amazed how I was walking day after the surgery. My stomach is filled with battle scars (so is my back), but hey, happy to be around and wish to be around for many more years,” she continued.
According to her doctor, Zsa Zsa underwent robot-assisted left ureteral reimplantation and the insertion of a Double-J (DJ) stent. She also clarified that she does not have a rare kidney disease, as some reports suggested.
“I don’t have a rare kidney disease- read it somewhere- so it’s not true. I was just born structurally different,” she explained.
She added that she will return to Singapore at the end of September to have her DJ stent removed and is looking forward to playing badminton and performing on stage again.
“Thank you to everyone who sent messages and prayed for my quick recovery,” she wrote.
This update comes just days after the ASAP host first opened up about her ureter problems, revealing that her left ureter was the “size of a sausage” when it should only be three to four millimeters in diameter. This condition had led to years of “endless battles” with urinary tract infections.
Fans and fellow celebrities, including Karylle, Vina Morales, and Rufa Mae Quinto, shared their support for Zsa Zsa.
“That smile! TYL!” Karylle wrote, adding, “Big thanks to your doctors, nurses, hospital staff,
everyone who prayed and shared kind messages and Tito Conrad ❤️ salamat.”
“Yeay God is good all the time,” actress-singer Vina Morales commented.
Comedian Rufa Mae Quinto also wrote, “Go go go Gemini! Miss you sis !”
“I’m so happy that you’re okay na. Take it easy,” former actress Melissa Mendez also commented.
