Eraserheads-signed guitar auctioned for P1.3 million; other Parokya ni Edgar memorabilia are also up for bidding
A guitar signed by all the members of Eraserheads has been sold for over a million pesos.
Parokya ni Edgar (PNE) announced on Wednesday, February 15, that the signed D&D Gab Chee Kee Signature Guitar was auctioned off to Bryan Beran, the executive producer of Circus Music Festival.
They wrote, “He claimed the guitar earlier this morning and directly paid his winning bid of ₱1,300,000.00 to the hospital's accounting office.”
They also shared that Beran’s team also visited Gab Chee Kee, a member of PNE, who is currently confined in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Beran, being a fan of Parokya ni Edgar, expressed his delight when he won the bid, “Masaya po [ako] kasi nakatulong kami kay sir Gab.”
Sharing his plans with the million-pesos worth of guitar, Beran plans to keep and only use it whenever the band has a gig set to their area, “para habang nag [pa]pagaling si sir Gab, andun pa rin presence niya.”
When asked if he has plans on selling it in the future, Beran said, “Mahirap po mag salita ng tapos po eh, pero as of now to keep it po talaga,” he told PhilSTAR L!fe.
In line with “Para kay Gab” fundraising, the band is also auctioning a few memorabilias, such as the polo that Miranda wore in the Bagsakan music video and their dolls, Mr. Suave and Chito Matsing, featured in their Halina sa Parokya album cover.
As of writing, the highest bid for the Bagsakan Polo is P125,000, while the Halina Puppets are at P80,000.
Chee Kee was diagnosed with lymphoma-induced pneumonia and has been in the ICU since last month.
Friends from the music industry have held fundraisers and benefit concerts to send financial assistance to help pay the guitarist's hospital bills.
