Janella Salvador is one supportive mother!

On the sidelines of her contract signing for ABS-CBN, Janella said in an interview that she'd support her son if he wants to get into showbiz, emphasizing the latter's friendly and confident attitude that makes him capable of being a star someday.

"Hindi ako bibong bata. Si Jude is super friendly. I see that he's not afraid to express himself and talk to strangers. So if he's interested, then why not," she said.

The 25-year-old celebrity mom also noted that she would only allow her three-year-old son if he truly wants to.

"Papayagan ko siya kung nakikita ko that he wants it. But I won’t put him in that situation."

In the same interview, Janella talked candidly about her difficulties managing her roles as Jude's mother and an actress, saying that her main priority now is to give her three-year-old son Jude "a good life."

"I honestly get so sad when I have to leave him when I have to leave the country and leave him at home. I actually cry sometimes," she said.

"Iniisip ko na lang, it’s true. I do everything for him now because I want to give him a good life. I want us to have a good life. I want to save enough."

In case you didn't know, Janella and Markus Paterson welcomed Jude into the world in October 2020 in the United Kingdom. Rumors about their split started after Janella referred to herself as a "single mom" in an interview with Bernadette Sembrano. Later in September 2022, the break-up was confirmed by Markus.

Nonetheless, Janella said that she and Markus are "doing great" as the latter "makes an effort to see Jude."

"Right now kasi, [Markus] went to the UK. Naghanap muna siya ng temporary work d'un. I think he's coming back eventually. And every time he's here in the Philippines, he makes it a point to borrow Jude every weekend," she said.

Despite their separation, the couple remained committed to being present in their son's milestones, including his second birthday and baptism in 2022.

In his recent interview with Ogie Diaz in 2023, Markus said the split happened due to their frequent fights, which led them to decide that breaking up was the better option to avoid raising their son in an unhealthy household.

However, Markus clarified that they are really good friends now and referred to their relationship as the "best one" he's ever had.
