BIGBANG leader G-Dragon has been placed under travel restrictions by South Korea's Ministry of Justice as investigations on the rapper's alleged drug use are underway.

The 35-year-old K-pop idol is banned from leaving the country along with Parasite actor Lee Sun-kyun who, like G-Dragon, is accused of using illegal drugs, violating the Narcotics Control Act.

Korea JoonAng Daily reported that the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced the ban on Friday, Oct. 28, noting that both celebrities are currently in Korea.

The agency added that they are planning to conduct a test on both G-Dragon and Lee to confirm the allegations. If proven true, another series of tests will be carried out to determine the type of drugs used, as well as the frequency and strength.

Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on Oct. 25 began its probe into G-Dragon's supposed use of marijuana and psychoactive drugs at a nightclub in Gangnam District. Reports state that at least eight individuals are being investigated for the same case, including the rapper and Lee.

G-Dragon, however, denied the allegations in a statement released through his lawyer on Friday, saying that he has "nothing to do with the recent news reports about violating the Narcotics Control Act.”

His agency Hodu&U Entertainment meanwhile said that G-Dragon plans to "diligently comply with any further investigation that may take place regarding this case."

G-Dragon rose to fame as a member of the boy band Big Bang in 2006.
