Dolly de Leon and Eugene Domingo plan to do a 2025 play together
Eugene Domingo has revealed that she and Dolly de Leon wish to collaborate on a play that they plan to stage in 2025.
During the May 3 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the titular host asked Eugene to read a surprise letter from Dolly.
“Dear Uge, Hermana. I’m so looking forward to 2025," the letter began.
This later prompted Boy to clarify what exactly "2025" means.
"Because we want to do a play together," Eugene revealed.
The Barber's Tales star added that they are already in the process of forming the production team: "We want to do a play and we're looking for producers. But we already asked Harlene Bautista and she said, 'Go na 'yan.'"
The pair of thespians were both theater arts majors at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where they performed for Dulaang UP and were mentored by Tony Mabesa.
Eugene has won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress accolades from major award-giving bodies and film festivals in the Philippines, including at the Cinemalaya Film Festival for her performance in Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank. Meanwhile, Dolly more recently gained international recognition along with Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for her performance in Triangle of Sadness.
Last week, Dolly also guested on Boy Abunda's show, revealing that Eugene paid for her son's tuition for three years back when she had financial difficulties.
