On August 15, MTV announced its performers in this year’s Video Music Awards (VMAs), with BLACKPINK set to make its debut U.S. awards show debut at the event.

The 38th VMAs will be held at 8 p.m., Eastern Time, on August 28 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The quartet, composed of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, will carry off a banging live performance of their pre-release single "Pink Venom," which is set to be released on Aug. 19.

It was in the same online event that the group debuted their music video for their latest track, "Ready For Love."

Meanwhile, member Lisa received a separate nomination for Best K-pop with "Lalisa."

The girl group consisting of Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose also made history with their mega-hit single "How You Like That," which won Song of Summer at the 2020 VMAs.

Other artists hyping up this year's stage are Panic! At The Disco, Anitta, J Balvin, Marshmello in collaboration with Khalid, and Kane Brown, who will be the first male country singer to perform at the awards show.

The 2022 MTV VMAs is airing live on Monday, Aug. 29, at 8 am in the Philipines. The live stream can be watched on MTV, the CW, BET, and more.

BLACKPINK announced on Aug. 8 their "Born Pink" world tour that is set to kick off on October 15 in Seoul, while their second studio album will drop on Sept. 16.
