Song Kang admits he’s nothing like ‘Nevertheless’ Park Jae-eon in real life: ‘He’s a very aggressive kid.’
As it turns out, Song Kang and Nevertheless casanova playboy Park Jae-eon have nothing in common.
Out of all the characters he portrayed in K-dramas, Song Kang admitted during a virtual fanmeet that he’s most different from Park Jae-eon of Nevertheless in real life. To recall, Jae-eon is known for his many flings yet he doesn’t want to commit to a relationship.
Jae-eon eventually learns how to take love seriously after falling in love with reluctant art student Yoo Na-bi (Han So-hee).
“Jae-eon is a very aggressive kid. It’s hard for me to be amiable and gregarious [as his personality], and I’m not so good with words. I’m also someone who doesn’t approach other people first,” Kang said.
On the other hand, Kang said he resembles Lee Chae-rok of Navillera the most.
The slice-of-life drama revolves around the challenges faced by a 70-year-old retired mailman Shim Deok-chul (Park In-hwan) who’s passionate about ballet despite suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Deok-chul crosses paths with Chae-rok who’s struggling with burnout.
“Chae-rok is very focused on his goals and he strives to achieve them. While portraying his character, I realized how amazing it was to be a person with such tenacity. When it comes to my own goals, I do try to achieve them. And I’m almost always sleepless until I make it,” Kang added.
Song Kang is commonly known as the “Son of Netflix” as most of his K-dramas were produced by the streaming giant.
The actor currently stars as weather forecaster Lee Shi-woo in the rom-com Forecasting Love and Weather.
