Liza Soberano has finally achieved her goal of landing a role in a Hollywood film, but how did she land her role in Zelda William's Lisa Frankenstein alongside Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton?

To recall, the 24-year-old star has been going around Los Angeles, Korea, and other entertainment spots with her Careless Music managers, James Reid and Jeffrey Oh, to network and get her name out there for the past few months.

On one such occasion, she met the director, the daughter of the late comedian, Robin Williams.

"Sakto the day that I met her, she just got this project ‘Lisa Frankenstein’ greenlit," Liza shared with ABS-CBN.

"And she was very excited about it. She was talking about it during our meeting and she said, ‘Why don’t you audition for one of the characters?’ I’m like, 'Sure, I’ll think about it, I’ll read the script and if I like it, I’ll audition for it.’"

Liza was already in South Korea to guest in the television show Not Hocance But Scanc when she decided to try it out and sent two self-tape auditions. When her agent told her the good news, the actress couldn't believe it herself.

"'You got the role, you got the role!' And I’m like, 'Oh my gosh," she enthused.

"The funny thing is I like to downplay things in my head until I’m actually in that moment. Because I don't want to get too excited tapos biglang mauudlot."

Since then, Liza has been shooting Lisa Frankenstein in New Orleans, Louisiana and hanging out with her Hollywood co-stars.

"I’m really happy that a lot of people know that I’m working on a project now. My fans have been waiting for the longest time since 2020 for me to go back into acting. I’m happy that finally they have something to look forward to," she said.

US actors Carla Gugino (The Haunting of Hill House), Joe Chrest (Stranger Things), and Henry Eikenberry (Euphoria) are also set to star in the upcoming Williams film.
