WATCH: The teaser of the much-awaited Studio Ghibli Theme Park recreates the house in 'My Neighbor Totoro'
Are you ready to step into the world of Hayao Miyazaki's movies? The world's first Studio Ghibli Theme Park in Nagakute City, Japan is officially opening its doors on Nov. 1, 2022.
The park will be split into five sections, each referencing a Miyazaki film: Ghibli's Giant Warehouse, Hill of Youth, Mononoke Village, Dondoko Forest, and Witch Valley.

There will also be rides and environments inspired by the movies like the rotary plaza from Whisper of the Heart, the airship from Laputa: Castle in the Sky, the iron forge from Princess Mononoke, and a playroom—complete with a giant Catbus—based on My Neighbor Totoro.

In anticipation of its November opening, the Aichi Tourism Bureau posted a teaser of the theme park, giving guests a glimpse of the attractions to come. The video gave fans a glimpse of the life-size recreation of Satsuki and Mei's house from My Neighbor Totoro.
Don't expect huge rollercoasters in the theme park, but there will be rides. There are more nature trails, as Miyazaki reportedly insisted that no trees be cut down.

The area inspired by My Neighbor Totoro, called Hill of Youth, will be the first to open this year, according to a local official. Two more areas, based on Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Howl's Moving Castle will open next year, while the final two sections will be unveiled by March 2024.
The opening of Ghibli Park comes a year after the opening of Nintendo's Super Mario theme park at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka.
