Adele ends Las Vegas residency after two years
Adele ended her Las Vegas residency after two years.
Multiple media outlets reported, including USA Today and The Hollywood Reporter, that Adele performed the 100th and final show of her Weekends with Adele last Nov. 23.
The 36-year-old singer turned emotional as she gave farewell remarks to fans.
"I will miss it terribly, and I will miss you terribly," she can be heard saying in a fan's now-viral video posted on X. "I don't know when I'm next going to perform again. I'm not doing anything else."
“I’m actually s**tting myself about what I am going to do. I don’t have any f**king plans," she added as cheers and laughs erupted.
Adele assured fans that she'll be back, noting the only thing she's good at is singing.
"I just don't know when I next want to come on stage," she added.
Adele thanked her 14-year-old son, Angelo, saying she did the residency instead of a tour to keep his life "normal."
"I wouldn’t change it for the world, but I get to be with him on the weekends now because obviously he can’t always come," she said. "So I love you to bits. Thank you for being patient for me.”
She also thanked her partner, sports agent Rich Paul, for "making me feel that I could do whatever I want to do."
Last September, Adele said she's taking a break from making music "for an incredibly long time."
"It has been amazing, I just need a rest," she said. "I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now. I want to live my life that I’ve been building and I will miss you terribly."
Weekends with Adele started in November 2022, with two performances weekly. It was initially set to begin in January of that year but was delayed as her team contracted COVID-19.
It received critical acclaim, earning praise for its production and her vocal performance.
In February this year, she postponed the residency's last 10 shows amid sickness.
