WATCH: Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni start stormy romance in first trailer for 'It Ends with Us'

Things get rocky between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in the first trailer for It Ends With Us, the film adaptation of the popular romance novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover.

The two-minute clip, which is soundtracked by Taylor Swift’s My Tears Ricochet, starts off with Lively's character Lily Blooms launching her very own flower shop. There, she meets Baldoni's Ryle Kincaid, and it didn't take long for sparks to fly between them.

But as Lively narrated, "Fifteen seconds—that's all it takes to completely change everything" as clips of Lily and Ryle fighting are shown.

Things get more complicated when Lily's first love Atlas Corrigan, played by Brandon Sklenar, comes into the picture and starts reconnecting with her.

It Ends With Us serves as the first Colleen Hoover novel to be adapted for the big screen. It follows the story of Lily as she pursues her lifelong dream of opening her own business in Boston while trying to overcome a traumatic childhood.

A chance meeting with charming neurosurgeon Ryle sparks an intense connection between them, but as the two fall deeply in love with each other, Lily begins to see sides of Ryle that remind her of her parents’ relationship. She then realizes that she must learn to rely on her own strength to make choices for her future.

Joining Lively, Baldoni, and Sklenar in the film are Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, and Amy Morton. Baldoni also serves as the film's director.

It Ends With Us is set to open in Philippine cinemas on Aug. 7.
