Attention, Pinoy runners: Meet the cast of ‘Running Man Philippines’
It’s official—the star-studded cast of Running Man Philippines, the local spinoff of the hit Korean TV show, has been revealed.
Glaiza De Castro, Ruru Madrid, Mikael Daez, Kokoy De Santos, Buboy Villar, Lexi Gonzales, and Angel Guardian were confirmed to be the adaptation’s cast, as reported by GMA-7’s 24 Oras on Friday, May 27.
The full cast was also revealed in a post by Running Man Philippines’ social media platforms on the same day.
In an interview with 24 Oras, De Castro said being part of Running Man Philippines is an opportunity to show a different side of herself to the viewers. “Hindi ako sanay na maipakita kung sino ako so this is isa sa mga avenues ko na mas makilala ako ng tao bilang ako.”
Daez, on the other hand, thanked the fans who have been eagerly waiting for the updates on the local adaptation.
“Kapag tiningnan nila na ‘Oh, sino ‘yung magiging cast nito?’ Ang dami na nilang theories, may podcast pa sila na pinaguusapan ano ang pwedeng mangyari sa Running Man Philippines so dahil ang laki na ng fanbase sa Philippines, nakaka-excite para sa aming lahat,” Daez said.
Running Man Philippines will be co-produced by GMA Network and Korean broadcasting company Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS). The premiere date is yet to be revealed.
The original Korean series features TV host Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Jee Seok-jin, Kim Jong-kook, actress and TV personality Song Ji-hyo, Jeon So-min, and Yang Se-chan as part of the cast.
Former cast members include Descendants of the Sun and Vincenzo star Song Joong-ki, TV personality Lee Kwang-soo, Gary, and former After School member Lizzy.
