iPhone 14, iPhone SE 2022, Apple Watch Series 8: Products to expect from Apple this 2022
From the next iPhone to upcoming Macs, Apple has a lot of products in store this 2022.
The year is just beginning but the rumor mill is already leaking details about what the tech giant has in store. Aside from the usual mobile devices and computers it launches yearly, Apple may be breaking into a new product category with its own AR headset.
Here's a list of some products Apple might introduce this 2022.
iPhone SE 3
A third-generation budget iPhone is reportedly in the works, and it's slated to bring a number of improvements over the iPhone SE 2020.
Leaks say differently about what the phone will look like. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says it will feature a similar design as the iPhone 8 with a 4.7-inch display, a Touch ID home button, and thick bezels. The upgrades will include 5G support and a faster processor, which might be the A15 chip found in the iPhone 13 lineup.
On the other hand, some CAD renders from known tipster David Kowalski showed a handset with a bezel-less, notched display similar to the iPhone X. A single rear camera is also seen in the photo.

We'll have to wait until March or April to see which leaks will turn out to be true.
iMac and Mac mini
In 2021, Apple refreshed its iMac lineup with a 24-inch model sporting a retro look and the M1 chip. This year, we might see a 27-inch iMac with a 120Hz mini-LED display with the latest M1 Pro and M1 Max chips first used in the 14- and 16-inch Macbook Pro, and a similar old school design. It also might finally come with Face ID on top of the Touch ID on the Magic Keyboard, according to leaker Dylandkt.
Alongside the new computer, there's news that Apple is developing a Mac Mini with the more powerful silicon processors by March or April.
MacBook Air
Like the iMac, the MacBook Air 2022 is set to get a bold, new look. According to leakster Jon Prosser, the upcoming laptop will be thinner and lighter than the previous Air and will feature white bezels as well as a notched display like the new MacBook Pro.
iPhone 14
As for the next iPhone, rumors say Apple may finally ditch the notch in the next series and instead keep the front camera in a hole-punch cutout. We also might be saying goodbye to the Mini model in the lineup, but there still might be four phones: the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 14 Max, and 14 Pro Max.
Apple Watch Series 8
In 2021, leaksters said that the Apple Watch Series 7 would come with a fresh new look which it did not. The smartwatch that eventually launched still had a round-edged display instead of the flat screen rumors said it would. This year's Series 8 is slated to look similar to its predecessors, but the Wall Street Journal reports that it will come with new health features such as temperature sensing, sleep apnea detection, and a car crash detection feature like the iPhone 14.
AR/VR Headset
One of the new devices that Apple might release this year is an augmented/virtual reality headset. This device is said to come with the new M1 Pro chip, two 3K OLED microdisplays, and 3D sensors for hand tracking.
The mixed reality headset is slated for a release during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference but due to snags in development, the launch date could be pushed to 2023, as Bloomberg predicts.
Aside from these products, Apple is also expected to release the 2022 MacBook Pro, new-generation iPads, and AirPods Pro 2.
