Meeting Bianca Bustamante and living every racing fan’s dream one weekend

I went to Monza, Italy, for a race weekend, and I lived every racing fan’s dream.

I’ve been watching Grand Prix races on the screen for a while now, but seeing them live is a whole new experience. Once you land on the Monza Circuit, popularly known as the "Temple of Speed” for its long straights and high-speed design, your energy goes full tilt.

These powerful cars that race on the track are just a few feet away from you. How crazy is that? You feel the sounds, the vibration from the engines, and your heart pounding out of your chest whenever your team races by.

After all, it's not always that you’re able to set foot on one of the most iconic race tracks ever. Monza was launched in September 1922 and has since hosted the Italian Grand Prix almost year after year. It's where legends have made history.

One of the highlights of my weekend was seeing Filipina motorsport driver Bianca Bustamante up close and watching her break boundaries in the male-dominated sport. It was a bonus to see a homegrown brand like GoTyme Bank supporting her, and what made it extra special was its presence on the international track, as her suit and car also had the local bank’s logo on them.

Aside from watching Bianca during free practice and cheering for her during the actual races, I also got to enter her garage and say hi to her real quick.
