‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ releases official cookbook

Eat your way through delicacies from the Air Nomads, Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation with the official Avatar: The Last Airbender cookbook launching this Nov. 23, 2021.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Official Cookbook published by Insight Editions will take anime fans and foodies on a tour through the Four Nations with aptly named recipes like Appa's Apple Salad, Sokka’s Salmon Jerky, Beifong Beef, Fire Noodles and more.

According to the cookbook’s author Jenny Dorsey, a Chinese-American professional chef and artist, the 60 recipes featured respect the cultures and cuisines from which the show takes influences from, meaning mainly Japanese, Chinese, and Inuit cuisines.

The cookbook featuring signature dishes in the world of Avatar is written in an in-universe style, with characters such as Uncle Iroh, Katara, Azula and the cabbage merchant presenting and commenting on the recipes. The cookbook also features a few specialties from The Jasmine Dragon Tea Shop.
