Will Smith spoke candidly about his marriage with Jada Pinkett Smith, revealing that both of them engaged in sexual relationships with other people.

"There were significant endless discussions about what is relational perfection? What is the perfect way to interact as a couple?" the 53-year-old actor shared in an interview with GQ released on Sept. 27.

"For the large part of our relationship, monogamy was what we chose, not thinking of monogamy as the only relational perfection."

"We have given each other trust and freedom, with the belief that everybody has to find their own way. And marriage for us can’t be a prison," Smith continued.

He noted, however, that the non-monogamous road isn't for everybody. "The experiences that the freedoms that we've given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love."

In July 2020, Will and Jada talked about their relationship on the Red Table Talk where Jada admitted having a relationship with R&B singer August Alsina during a period of separation during their marriage.

The couple married in 1997 and have two children Jaden and Willow.
