'Voltes V' Philippine adaptation to be screened in Japan with new scenes
Voltes V: Legacy will soon leave a legacy in Japan as it is set to be screened in the country soon.
TOEI Company has announced that the Philippine adaptation of the hit Japanese anime television series of the same name will open in Japanese theaters starting Oct. 18.
The newly-launched Japanese website for the Voltes V: Legacy project details that a re-edited version of the film will be screened. Dubbed as the "Super Electromagnetic Edition," the upcoming release contains "scenes that were not included in the Philippine version."
"In addition, the quality of the CG scenes, which were impeccable in the original, has been significantly improved through full-length remastering, resulting in a 'Super Electromagnetic Edited Version' with more impactful images," the website's translated text read.
While Japanese fans will be treated to the subtitled version with the original Filipino audio, there will also be a release that is dubbed in Japanese.
Apart from the film, plans are also underway to bring the original Philippine version of the 90 episodes to Japan.

Voltes V: Legacy follows the story of young heroes saving Earth from enemies from far away planets.
It first premiered on April 18 last year through a 107-minute theatrical version that covers content from the first 15 episodes of the television series. The show officially began airing in May before it finished its run in September with a total of 90 episodes.
Directed by Mark Reyes, the action-fantasy series stars Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Radson Flores, and Raphael Landicho. Joining the cast are Albert Martines, Carla Abellana, Martin del Rosario, and Dennis Trillo.
