All hail Asia's first LGBTQ Superhero Queen!

Rocketsheep Studio has dropped a new trailer for its latest project, an animated film featuring Zsazsa Zaturnnah.

The upcoming film, titled Zsazsa Zaturnnah Vs. The Amazonistas of Planet X, follows Ada, a shy, gay hairdresser in a small town in the Philippines who experiences too many heartbreaks in life.

Suddenly, a magical meteorite from outer space changes Ada's life as he turns into a flashy female superhero. As Zsazsa Zaturnnah, she must fight the evil alien Amazonistas while dwelling on her emotional feelings.

In the newly released trailer, Ada wonders if he will pursue being a superhero. However, Didi, his closest friend, called it "destiny," an opportunity to save his customers, his business, and the world with her superhero skills.

Alongside the new trailer, Rocketsheep Studio also announced that they started a fundraising campaign to make this film possible.

"Our tiny team has been working on this for the past four years with most of the funding coming out of our own pockets. We have gone to several international film markets and peddled to so many business people who all say the same thing: the project is really cool but the market for it is too niche," they said in a statement.

"LGBTQ culture is still censored in many places in the world. In some countries, it's even literally illegal to be gay. Traditional film investors are scared of backing Zsazsa, so we are turning to you: You are our only hope!" it added.

You can send your pledges here from $1 (P58.52) to $250 (P14,630.75), or you can pledge your desired amount without a reward.

Zsazsa Zaturnnah Vs. The Amazonistas of Planet X is a project adapted from the best-selling graphic novel Ang Kagila-gilalas na Pakikipagsapalaran ni Zsazsa Zaturnnah. The character was originally created by Filipino illustrator and graphic designer Carlo Vergara.

The character has appeared in theater and film, including Zsazsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh (2006), which starred Zsa Zsa Padilla, who inspired the character's first name, BB Gandanghari, who played her alter-ego, Ada.

Meanwhile, Rocketsheep Studio is an indie production company that has worked on Saving Sally (2016) and the Netflix film Hayop Ka! (2020).
