Taylor Swift on re-recorded ‘Speak Now’ album: ‘It’s yours, it’s mine, it’s ours’

Taylor Swift penned an appreciation post for her fans in time for the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). 

The singer dropped her re-recorded album at 12 noon on Friday, July 7 (Philippine time), two years after the release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021. 

“It’s here. It’s yours, it’s mine, it’s ours,” she began her post, saying that it’s an album she “wrote alone about the whims, fantasies, heartaches, dramas, and tragedies” that she had “as a young woman between 18 and 20.” 

“I remember making track list after track list, obsessing over the right way to tell the story. I had to be ruthless with my choices, and I left behind some songs I am still unfailingly proud of now,” she recalled. 

“I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and the memories it brought back filled me with nostalgia and appreciation. For life, for you, for the fact that I get to reclaim my work.” 

“Thank you a million times, for the memories that break our fall,” she concluded.

Swift announced the re-release of Speak Now in May during her Eras concert in Nashville, Tennessee. Featuring hit songs like Mean, Sparks Fly, and The Story of Us, the album earned a nomination at the 2012 Grammys for Best Country Album, with Mean winning Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.
