#HopeAll: Ariana Grande and James Corden debut post-pandemic song ‘No Lockdowns Anymore’
James Corden and Ariana Grande have performed a remix we wish we could sing along to sooner rather than later: No Lockdowns Anymore.
With the tune coming from Good Morning Baltimore from the Broadway musical Hairspray, No Lockdowns Anymore sees Grande and Corden roaming the busy streets of a New York set as they enthuse about finally logging out off Zoom and putting on shoes after 15 months.
The sunlight is a fantasy / It still doesn’t feel real to me / No lockdowns anymore / Will they still take my temp at the door? Corden inquires as he’s met with a full-on musical performance outside his house.
The pair is also joined by Tony-winning theater actress and original Hairspray cast member Marissa Jaret Winokur, whom Ariana croons about getting drunk with and planning matching tattoos as part of their newfound post-pandemic spontaneity.
The song serves as a brief musical segment for Corden’s late-night talk show The Late Late Show where Grande is a special guest.
It also comes in the wake of the ongoing vaccine rollouts in the United States, as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has announced that fully vaccinated Americans can now gather maskless outdoors.
