TAPE's 'Eat Bulaga!' renamed to 'Tahanang Pinakamasaya' after TVJ wins trademark
TAPE Inc. has renamed its noontime show on GMA Network to "Tahanang Pinakamasaya" after a Marikina trial court ordered it to stop using the title Eat Bulaga!
The show adopted the new name on Jan. 6, with hosts Paolo Contis and Isko Moreno addressing the change.
"Mga Kapuso, may balita tayong tnatanggap kahapon, kaya susunod tayo sa desisyon ng korte. Pero fresh episode tayo mula ngayon at laging good vibes at love love lang," Moreno said.
"Ang mahalaga, hangga't nandiyan po kayo, kami ni Paolo at ang ating mga kasama dito sa Tahanang Pinakamasaya ay tuloy-tuloy ang tulong at saya at sorpresa."
The new logo for the show was also unveiled on its social media platforms.
This move comes after Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, and Joey De Leon announced their win in the copyright infringement and unfair competition case filed against TAPE. In turn, the trio's show on TV5, E.A.T., adopted the name Eat Bulaga!
In addition to the name Eat Bulaga, the recent ruling also urged TAPE and GMA to stop using trademarks "EB," logos, jingles, programs, projects, and promotions related to the TVJ program. Past episodes, clips, and segments from before TVJ's exit are also barred from use.
In response, GMA Network said it will comply with the court's ruling and it will file an appeal to the decision.
Meanwhile, TVJ were again able to use sing the Eat Bulaga! theme song once again on their noontime program on January 6.
Tahanang Pinakamasaya is hosted by Moreno, Contis, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, Cassy and Mavy Legaspi, and Alexa Miro.
