Alexa Ilacad, Khalil Ramos, and more to star in Rico Blanco jukebox musical ‘Liwanag sa Dilim’
The year is starting with a melodic bang through the reveal of the cast members of the anticipated OPM musical, Liwanag sa Dilim, which is set to hit the stage this March.
Local theatre company 9 Works Theatrical posted the performing casts of the jukebox musical Liwanag sa Dilim, which is heavily inspired by the music of singer-songwriter Rico Blanco.
Featured in modern dark grunge, stars from the biggest television networks appeared in the lineup, together with returning and rising theatre artists.
Kapamilya and Kapuso stars Alexa Ilacad, Khalil Ramos, Rita Daniela, and Anthony Rosaldo are set to headline the show, which is based on the book and direction of Robbie Guevara.
Other cast members who are up for a stage comeback include CJ Navato, Mark Tayag, Jon Abella, Nicole Omillo, Vien King, Paji Arceo, Boo Gabunada, and Jasper Jimenez.
The rest of the promising stars who were shown in the cast reveal are Brianna Bunagan, Arnel Carrion, Denzel Chang, Chez Cuenca, Neomi Gonzales, Derrick Gozos, Rica Laguardia, Lani Ligot, Raul Montesa, Lucylle Tan, and Iya Villanueva.
Liwanag sa Dilim is set to be staged in March 2025 at the RCBC Plaza in Makati. Tickets are priced from P2,200 to P3,900 which are now available via Ticket2Me.
9 Works Theatrical aims to honor Rico’s contributions and legacy in the Filipino music industry. The theatre company is also known for adapting musical plays in previous years such as Tick, Tick… Boom!, Rent, and Once On This Island.
