Weekend hangs: Customize your own flip flops for summer, learn about mental health, and more

If you’re looking to spend some time outside this March 16 and 17, there are some events you can go to and activities you can enjoy either by yourself or with your nearest and dearest.

From personalizing your own flip flops to learning how to improve your mental health and beyond, here are happenings you can check out this weekend.

Make Your Own Havaianas 2024

Ready for summer? We know where you can customize your own flip flops for your upcoming beach trips. Until Sunday, March 17, you can head to the Activity Center of Bonifacio High Street along 9th Avenue to personalize your Havaianas pair—from its soles and straps, to its pins.

You can choose the type and color of your footwear's soles and straps. We suggest that you go for their summer specials this year featuring beautiful color gradients of blue and orange, orange and purple, and pink and orange.

A total of 12 cute pins for the straps are available, including vinyl, pepper, alien, controller, cassette, evil eye, and sun, among others.

There's even a designated area where you can take your customized slippers to the next level by painting them.

Exciting activities like claw machine as well as food booths with ice cream and donuts also await.

Compassion Fatigue Therapy, art sessions, and more

Glorietta’s Women’s Month celebration will be held until March 17. Dubbed How She Blooms: A Tribute to Thriving Women, the weekend event will feature various activities aimed at promoting women empowerment.

There will be a special coffee and group therapy session with a focus on compassion fatigue, which is "the cost of caring for others or for their emotional pain, resulting from the desire to help relieve the suffering of others," according to the Canadian Medical AssociationIn partnership with mental health organization Mind You, the insightful session is being offered for free, but you would have to sign up for the event here due to limited seating.

Mental health sessions are also available at a discount via the Mind You app as well as 10 free sessions for those who need it.

Free therapy sessions and discounts await at the affair.

Other activities include art sessions, pound workouts, and a workshop on essential oils by Young Living "to cover the different aspects of a woman’s well-being."

Manila Pen Show

Love art and learning? The Manila Pen Show is offering activities and items that could let you combine both this weekend at the 5th floor of Holiday Inn and Suites in Makati.

With the theme “Sun, Sky, and Shore,” the event will have Lamy, Sailor, Scribe, and other much-loved brands that are offering writing instruments that are fun to use. 

This year's Manila Pen Show will take place in Makati.

Aside from individual booths including startups and nibwork booths, there will also be workshops where you can learn more about art.

You can sign up for the show in person at the venue's registration area or online. The Saturday and Sunday passes are worth P350 each, while a whole weekend pass costs P650.
