Taylor Swift releases ‘Cruel Summer’ remix, live audio from ‘Eras Tour’ film
Love jamming out to Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer?
The American pop superstar dropped a live version and remix of her Lover album hit track following the release of The Eras Tour Concert Film.
"What a truly mind-blowing thing you’ve turned The Eras Tour Concert Film into," she wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). "I’ve been watching videos of you guys in the theaters dancing and prancing and recreating choreography, creating inside jokes, casting spells, getting engaged, and just generally creating the exact type of joyful chaos we’re known for."
"One of my favorite things you’ve done was when you supported Cruel Summer SO much, I ended up starting The Eras Tour show with it," she said.
"For old times sake, I’m releasing the live audio from the tour so we can all shriek it in the comfort of our homes and cars PLUS a brand new remix by @LPGiobbi," she added.
You can listen to both releases on her Spotify page under the playlist The Cruelest Summer.
Cruel Summer was part of Swift's 2019 album Lover. It became a hit and landed on streaming charts four years later after being played in the background of various dance covers on TikTok.
According to Billboard, the song became the singer's longest-leading No. 1 on its Pop Airplay chart earlier this month, "topping the survey (dated Oct. 7) for an eighth week, beating her seven-week reign with I Knew You Were Trouble in 2013."
